Somerset Tray Table

The Somerset Tray Table was inspired by the beautifully layered interiors that feel collected over time rather than simply decorated. Drawing on classic design influences, it combines timeless materials and thoughtful detailing to create a piece that is both practical and decorative.

For generations, faux bamboo furnishings have been admired for their elegance, versatility, and enduring appeal. Found everywhere from English country houses to Palm Beach retreats, bamboo-inspired furniture has long been favoured for its ability to bring a sense of refinement while remaining relaxed and inviting. The Somerset reinterprets this enduring design language with a fresh perspective.

At its centre is a removable faux tortoiseshell tray, rich in character and designed for everyday living. Its deep, layered finish brings warmth and visual interest, creating a striking contrast against the black lacquered faux bamboo base below.

Brass corner brackets and trim act as jewellery-like accents, highlighting the craftsmanship of the piece while adding a touch of polish and sophistication. Every detail has been carefully considered
to create a sense of balance between refinement and functionality.

Whether placed beside a sofa, between a pair of chairs, or used as a bedside table, the Somerset brings warmth, character, and effortless elegance to any interior. Designed to feel timeless rather than trend-driven, it is a piece intended to be enjoyed for years to come.

“The Somerset was inspired by the pieces you discover in beautifully layered interiors – furnishings that feel collected over time rather than simply purchased. I have always loved the elegance of faux bamboo and the richness of tortoiseshell, and I wanted to reinterpret those classic elements in a way that feels fresh, practical, and relevant for today’s homes. It is decorative without being precious, and versatile enough to move effortlessly from room to room.”
